SDEP Vision Statement:

VISION
To be the preeminent forum for the acquisition and sharing of knowledge by the community of San Diego environmental professionals.

MISSION
To facilitate the protection of San Diego's environment by helping the environmental professional community reconcile environmental protection with other public and private needs and priorities.

OBJECTIVES
To assist members with continuing development of useful knowledge and helpful relationships by providing the following services:

• Forums where members can meet and learn from knowledgeable expert speakers and other members;
• Timely access to useful information through various electronic media;
• Promoting the advancement and application of sound science to environmental issues with relevance to the San Diego region; and
• Facilitating the development of cooperative relationships across traditional boundaries and barriers among industry, government, academia, and non- governmental organizations.

SDEP Steering Committee:

Steering Committee Membership is defined by participation (assuming you are a fully paid mamber of SDEP). You show up, you participate, and you are a member. It is a very friendly and easy way to get involved with SDEP.

Steering Committee meetings are quarterly and currently held at the Hazard Center Double Tree Courtyard Restaurant. We meet at 7:30 for breakfast (courtesy the SDEP in recognition for our efforts!) and the agenda consists of SDEP funds management, picking speaker topics and assigning responsibilities to contact and invite speakers, managing scholarship funds, and other issues that crop up. Our meetings are usually in the third week of June, September, January, and March. Exact dates are announced at the meetings or contact an officer for the next scheduled date.
