Topic:

NAVFAC Southwest Installation Restoration and Munitions Response Programs Update


Abstract:

Mr. Van Winkle will update us on the status of the Restoration Program and discuss potential business opportunities with NAVFAC Southwest, which releases numerous regional contracts each year to acquire assistance with the cleanup activities.

Cost:

$30 for members, $35 for non-members, add $5 if reservation is not received by 5pm the Friday before. Online registration will end at noon on the Monday before the event. Walk-ins with no reservation will be charged an extra $10 and be asked to wait until those with reservations are seated.

Please note that confirmed reservations will be invoiced regardless of attendance.


Speaker Information:

Derral Van Winkle, P.G., is the Environmental Restoration Product Line Leader for NAVFAC Southwest, a role he has conducted for the last four years. Mr. Van Winkle is a Professional Geologist with over 30 years of experience conducting environmental cleanup work with all DoD services, most recently with the Restoration Program for NAVFAC Southwest.  Prior to working for NAVFAC Southwest, Derral worked for twenty years in the environmental consulting field supporting U.S Government and State agencies and private sector clients.  He has successfully worked directly for and closely with federal and state regulatory agencies across the United States, including USEPA Region 9, and the various state regulatory agencies within the Southwest AOR.  His roles have varied from a project chemist analyzing samples in a laboratory to field geologist/geophysicist, project manager, and supervisor of a multi-disciplinary team that addressed compliance, storm water, and restoration investigation and cleanup projects.

BREWER'S CLUB SANDWICH - roasted turkey, ham, bacon, cheddar & swiss cheeses, tomato and lettuce with chipotle mayo. served with french fries.

FISH & CHIPS - beer-battered cod served golden brown with french fries, apple coleslaw and housemade cajun remoulade

Directions from the South: Take I-5 or I-805 N to La Jolla Village Dr. Turn left off the freeway onto La Jolla Village Dr. Turn left on Villa La Jolla Dr. Turn right into Rock Bottom parking lot.
