DESCRIPTION:http://sdep.onefireplace.com/ViewEvent.ashx?eventId=406002\n\n   2012 SURF Sustainability Symposium\n    \n  DATE: January 31st to February 2nd\, 2012\n  LOCATION:  University of California San Diego \n  Event Details:\n    Bringing together a broad range of viewpoints\, approaches and topics\, the Sustainable Remediation Forum (SURF\, www.sustainableremediation.org) and partnering organizations invite you to partake in compelling discussions and presentations about the fast developing field of sustainable remediation and its emerging relationship with sustainable redevelopment.\n  Proposed Agenda:\n      * Day 1 (January 31) – Broad-ranging sustainability symposium coordinated by SURF and with participation from regional and national organizations\n\n        * Day 2-3 (February 1-2) – SURF’s annual meeting\; case studies and further exploration of the themes and discussions of Day 1\; all participants welcome\n\n   Presentations and Panel Discussions:\n      * Keynote speaker Scott Peters\, Chairman of the Board of Port Commissioners\, Port of San Diego\n\n        * Overview of the state of sustainable remediation\n\n        * What does sustainable remediation mean to the different participating organizations (including industry\, government\, academic and regulatory representatives)?\n\n        * Relationship between sustainable remediation and sustainable redevelopment\n\n        * Can remediation and redevelopment practitioners work more closely together?\n\n        * How can different professional organizations achieve a common vision for sustainability?\n\n        * Examples of sustainable remediation performed collaboratively by industry\, regulatory agency representatives and other stakeholders\n\n        * Student sustainable remediation poster session\n\n   Registration fees:\n      * Full Conference (all 3 days) - $150\n\n        * Day 1 only - $75\n\n        * Students - $25 (free for students presenting a poster)\n\n   Registration is now open on the SURF website: www.sustainableremediation.org/registration\n  Contact Info:\n  Karin Holland\n    SURF\n  karin.holland@sustainableremediation.org\n  SURF 2012 Flyer.pdf\n   \n
